After the insertion a very small level of electrical current flows through the needle or probe and kills the hair follicle. At that point you can use a tweezer to remove the hair. You see once the hair follicle is killed, hair will not be able to grow in that area. Each hair removal using electrolysis can take anywhere from one to twenty seconds. As you can imagine this will be slow process if you have a lot of hair to remove. It will take several sessions to kill the follicle completely so that the hair does not grow back. The electrolysis procedure can be a little painful depending on your pain threshold.

Although electrolysis is great for removing facial and body hair there are WARNINGS! Do not use it on ear or nose hairs and do not use electrolysis to remove hair from a mole. If you have some kind of electronic device in your body such as a pacemaker, do not use electrolysis at all! By the way, there are kits available so you can do it in the comfort of your home.

Now on to the second system of permanent hair removal which is using a laser to removal the unwanted hair. The laser process works by using a pulsating,intense laser beam light that passes through the skin targeting the dark pigment in the hair which is called melanin. FYI,melanin is the substance that gives the hair its color. It also gives the skin and the iris of the eyes its color. When the laser beam hits the hair follicle, the laser destroys the hair follicle immediately. It will normally takes a few sessions to permanently prevent the the hair from growing back in that particular area. The pain associated with the laser technique is in the comfortable range. There are no kits available to laser your hair in the comfort of your home. Using laser to remove hair should only be done by a qualified professional.

Now on to the cost. It will depend one factor. And that factor is how much hair needs to be removed. The more hair the more treatments. It will normally cost more to have the electrolysis performed rather than the laser procedure. The reason being is that although the per treatment cost is higher when using laser, the electrolysis method will take more treatments to become completely hair-free than if you were to use laser. Now of course it will be a whole lot cheaper than laser if you are using the electrolysis home kit product.

So the choice is yours, electrolysis or laser. Used properly, you can permanently remove facial and body hair.
